Upstream Process Development
We develop new upstream processes and optimize existing ones to support efficient, reproducible biologics production.
SysGene’s upstream development capabilities span microbial fermentation and mammalian cell culture. We tailor media composition, feeding strategies and cultivation conditions to each molecule and expression system, with a focus on improving productivity, maintaining product quality and establishing consistent process performance.
With mammalian bioreactor capacity at 5 L and microbial fermenters from development scale to 30 L, 100 L and 1,000 L (5,000 L planned), we assess process behaviour across scales and generate the data needed to guide further scale-up. Our approach considers downstream recovery and purification requirements from the outset, helping build an integrated, practical production process.
We also support technology transfer through process documentation and technical collaboration with customer or partner teams. Defined operating conditions, development data and transfer support provide a foundation for continued scale-up and manufacturing at the receiving facility.
