Platforms
Two platform routes, selected by molecule fit
SysGene provides complementary expression routes for recombinant biologics: one designed to simplify microbial recovery, the other for complex glycosylated biologics requiring mammalian processing.
Bacterial secretion
Patented Bacterial Secretion Platform
Designed to produce suitable recombinant proteins and peptides directly into the culture medium. For compatible molecules, extracellular secretion can simplify recovery by reducing reliance on cell lysis, inclusion-body isolation, solubilization and refolding.
Mammalian expression
Patented Mammalian Expression Platform
A CHO-based platform for complex and glycosylated biologics that require mammalian folding, assembly and post-translational processing.
Key attributes
What the platforms bring to a program
Patented platforms
Two patented expression routes: bacterial secretion and mammalian expression.
Extracellular secretion
Suitable recombinant proteins and peptides are produced directly into the culture medium.
Complex biologics
CHO-based expression for glycosylated biologics that require mammalian folding and processing.
Simplified recovery
For compatible molecules, less reliance on cell lysis, inclusion-body isolation and refolding.
Scalable development
Mammalian bioreactors at 5 L and microbial fermenters to 1,000 L, with 5,000 L planned.
Proven in our products
Used to design, develop and manufacture every product in the SysGene portfolio.
Evidence
The evidence behind our platforms
Both platforms have been established at laboratory scale. Platform performance, scale-up requirements and product quality are evaluated separately for each molecule.
Proven in our own portfolio
Every product in the SysGene portfolio has been designed, developed and manufactured using SysGene’s patented bacterial secretion and mammalian expression platforms, the same platforms offered for development, licensing and technology-transfer programs.

We present technical information according to the strength and source of the supporting evidence, enabling partners to distinguish confirmed specifications from representative results, development targets and external benchmarks.
Validated specification
A confirmed product specification supported by an approved test method and controlled documentation.
SUPPORTED BY TECHNICAL DOCUMENTATIONRepresentative result
A result observed under defined study or program conditions.
PRESENTED WITH THE RELEVANT METHODS, CONDITIONS AND LIMITATIONSDevelopment target
A performance objective under evaluation that has not yet been established as a product specification.
CLEARLY IDENTIFIED AS A DEVELOPMENT TARGETExternal benchmark
Published third-party data used to provide relevant technical or market context.
