Patented Bacterial Secretion Platform
Patented bacterial secretion platform designed to produce suitable recombinant proteins and peptides directly into the culture medium. For compatible molecules, extracellular secretion can simplify recovery by reducing reliance on cell lysis, inclusion-body isolation, solubilization and refolding.
Benefits
What secretion can change for a compatible molecule
Product recovery begins from clarified culture supernatant.
May reduce downstream complexity and impurity burden.
Supports molecule-specific batch and perfusion process development.

Why it matters
Secretion changes where recovery starts
- A different starting point for recovery: Because the product is secreted, downstream work can begin from the culture medium rather than from harvested, disrupted cells.
- Fewer steps to develop and transfer: Where lysis and refolding can be avoided, there may be fewer unit operations to develop, document and transfer.
- Less host material to remove: Starting outside the cell can leave less intracellular material in the purification feed, depending on the molecule and process.
- Process mode chosen per molecule: Batch or perfusion is selected against the molecule and program goals rather than fixed by the platform.
- A route to larger capacity: Microbial fermenters run from development scale to 30 L, 100 L and 1,000 L in Hyderabad, with 5,000 L planned.
Evidence
Evidence behind the platform
Both platforms have been established at laboratory scale. Platform performance, scale-up requirements and product quality are evaluated separately for each molecule.
Every product in the SysGene portfolio has been designed, developed and manufactured using SysGene’s patented bacterial secretion and mammalian expression platforms, the same platforms offered for development, licensing and technology-transfer programs.
